Promapp Solutions a provider of cloud-based process management software has produced a new platform for firms that operate in several locations or produce multiple products manage processes thanks to its new Process Variant Management (PVM) software.

“Managing process variations has always been a huge problem,” says Promapp CEO Ivan Seselj. “It is unnecessarily complex, costly, and inconsistent, particularly for companies which are multi-nationals, have numerous locations, or offer multiple core products or services.”

The module addresses all of these issues by recognising standard processes and either managing or eliminating process variations.

The PVM Module enables processes to be standardised across an entire organisation, it can also incorporate process variations to meet the requirements of a specific customer, location or product. It can also enable companies to customise activities and manage service delivery for key customers, which is useful for internal and external shared service providers.

“Simplifying the management of process variations allows companies to save both time and money, while enabling them to control and improve customised services and activities,” Seselj explains.

 Market analyst at IDC Joseph Hsiao notes, “Managing process variations is a big issue for multi-national enterprises who need to enable a certain level of localisation. Most companies are challenged with business process mapping – standardising business processes and creating a single source of truth.” 

Steve Stanton of FCB Partners adds, “Ninety percent of the organisations I know have failed at standardisation. The fact that Promapp can identify and calculate the cost of process variants is very powerful.”

Standardisation in an organisation can be massive as it allows organisations to work with confidence that they’re products and processes meet certain key metrics and also provides greater client satisfaction.

PVM also helps in the lean sense by ensuring that right first time and just in time manufacturing can be achieved more easily and with greater producer confidence. In terms of waste the module can make savings in time, overburden and unevenness.
